Award Winners 2019

Site managers Martin Bance and Paul Edwards have been recognised for building homes of exceptional quality in the first round of the Pride in the Job Awards 2019 from the National House Building Council (NHBC).

They have each won a Quality Award for their management of our Blunsdon Meadow and Hares Chase developments.

Nearly 450 UK site managers have won a Quality Award in the first round, representing the top 3% of the 16,000 site managers entered. Being selected as one of the UK’s top site managers is testament to their commitment to delivering quality homes for residents.

Now in its 39th year, the Awards are the most highly regarded competition in the house-building industry. Judging for the Awards is rigorous, beginning in July 2018, with each site manager assessed across these six key areas: consistency, attention to detail, leadership, interpretation of drawings and specifications, technical expertise and health and safety.

“I am over the moon”, said Martin about his win. “It is great for GreenSquareHomes as it really shows that we are providing a quality product. I have won awards from the NHBC before so it is great to win another!”

“When I got the phone call from the NHBC I was flabbergasted to learn I‘d won the Quality Award for Blunsdon Meadow,” said Paul. “It feels amazing that we are producing good quality homes to a very high standard. This is my first award for NHBC Pride in Job Awards and hopefully the first of many! I am proud to have achieved this.”

Martin and Paul will now go on to compete for Seal of Excellence and Regional Awards that will be announced an event in Bristol in October, with the Supreme Award winners unveiled at a gala ceremony in January 2020. Good luck both!

Tony Knight, Operations Manager, said: “I am so pleased for Paul and Martin. We’re a relatively small developer, so for two of our site managers to achieve this sort of recognition is fantastic. It is a testament to their excellence and their commitment to delivering high quality homes, built at the highest standards – something we are very proud of.”
