  • Scott Turner at a GreenSquare Homes development

GreenSquare Homes’ site manager wins quality award

GreenSquare Homes has once again been recognised in the National House Building Council (NHBC) Pride in the Job Awards.

Site manager Scott Turner has been selected for a Quality Award in the first round of the 2021 awards for his outstanding management of our development at Hares Chase, in Cricklade, Wiltshire.

Being selected as one of the UK’s top site managers is testament to his commitment in ensuring excellent standards on site and the quality of construction he’s managing.

For more than 40 years, the NHBC’s Pride in the Job Awards have been the most highly regarded competition in the house-building industry. Judging is a rigorous process, with each site manager assessed across six key areas: consistency; attention to detail; leadership; interpretation of drawings and specifications; technical expertise; and health and safety.

Scott is following in the footsteps of the previous site manager at Hares Chase, Martin Bance, who won the same award last year. “I’m really happy to have had this recognition,” he said. “Hares Chase is a flagship development for us and I’m proud of my part in delivering it. I couldn’t have done it without the hard work and dedication of my assistant site manager Connal Knott and all of our sub-contractors – as well as all the support from the rest of the GSH team.”

Quality Award winners all go forward to be considered for Seals of Excellence and Regional Awards later in the year.

Tony Knight, Operations Manager at GreenSquare Homes said: “I would like to congratulate Scott and his team on this well-deserved win. It reflects what a great job he’s done in his first year as site manager – and the company-wide commitment we have to delivering high quality homes, built to the highest standard.”

Hares Chase is a 70-home development in the historic town of Cricklade, Wiltshire. It offers a range of properties for homebuyers to suit a variety of lifestyles, from two, three and four bedroom houses for sale and shared ownership.

GreenSquare Homes is the development arm of housing and care group GreenSquareAccord. Profits from selling new homes are used to support growth to ensure the group’s ability to build more affordable homes for a range of customers across its operating area.

GreenSquare Homes achieves five-star customer satisfaction rating

We are delighted to have achieved five stars for customer satisfaction in the Home Builders Federation’s (HBF) national new homes customer satisfaction survey.

Rodger Shipway, Marketing and Sales Manager at GreenSquare Homes, said: “We are committed to building homes of the highest quality and the award reflects the efforts made by our experienced and dedicated team. We aim to give customers the best possible experience when they buy a new home from us and we take care to understand our customers’ needs.

“We’re thrilled, and extremely proud, to be awarded five stars in HBF’s customer satisfaction survey, particularly as the feedback comes directly from the people who buy our homes. It is a testament to our commitment to delivering consistently high levels of customer satisfaction.”

Five stars is the highest possible rating that the HBF can grant, and means that more than 90% of customers in a recent survey ‘would recommend their builder to a friend’.

Stewart Baseley, Executive Chairman of the Home Builders Federation, said: “Congratulations to GreenSquare. Achieving such a high level of satisfaction, from the people who are the very best placed to rate their performance, is a fantastic achievement.”

  • Award Winners 2019

Site managers Martin Bance and Paul Edwards have been recognised for building homes of exceptional quality in the first round of the Pride in the Job Awards 2019 from the National House Building Council (NHBC).

They have each won a Quality Award for their management of our Blunsdon Meadow and Hares Chase developments.

Nearly 450 UK site managers have won a Quality Award in the first round, representing the top 3% of the 16,000 site managers entered. Being selected as one of the UK’s top site managers is testament to their commitment to delivering quality homes for residents.

Now in its 39th year, the Awards are the most highly regarded competition in the house-building industry. Judging for the Awards is rigorous, beginning in July 2018, with each site manager assessed across these six key areas: consistency, attention to detail, leadership, interpretation of drawings and specifications, technical expertise and health and safety.

“I am over the moon”, said Martin about his win. “It is great for GreenSquareHomes as it really shows that we are providing a quality product. I have won awards from the NHBC before so it is great to win another!”

“When I got the phone call from the NHBC I was flabbergasted to learn I‘d won the Quality Award for Blunsdon Meadow,” said Paul. “It feels amazing that we are producing good quality homes to a very high standard. This is my first award for NHBC Pride in Job Awards and hopefully the first of many! I am proud to have achieved this.”

Martin and Paul will now go on to compete for Seal of Excellence and Regional Awards that will be announced an event in Bristol in October, with the Supreme Award winners unveiled at a gala ceremony in January 2020. Good luck both!

Tony Knight, Operations Manager, said: “I am so pleased for Paul and Martin. We’re a relatively small developer, so for two of our site managers to achieve this sort of recognition is fantastic. It is a testament to their excellence and their commitment to delivering high quality homes, built at the highest standards – something we are very proud of.”

As well as the new homes we build for sale, the Greensquare Group develops and buys a range of high-quality new homes for shared ownership.

This week we have launched our radio campaign to promote a range of new homes for shared ownership across Wiltshire.

Shared ownership is a scheme designed to help you buy a home of your own. It’s an alternative to renting or full ownership and is suitable if you cannot afford to buy a home outright. You can buy a share of a property, and pay rent for the rest of it.

  • Planning at Cricklade

We’re delighted to announce that GreenSquare Homes has been granted planning permission to progress with its ‘Hares Chase’ development of 70 new homes on land near The Forty in Cricklade, Wiltshire.

The development site, on the outskirts of the town, was purchased by GreenSquare Homes with outline planning consent – and Wiltshire Council has now given approval to GreenSquare’s design, mix, and layout of homes.

Hares Chase will feature a range of new high-quality Cotswold-style homes including 2, 3, and 4 bedroom houses for sale, rent, and shared ownership.

John Owen, GreenSquare’s Land Manager, said: “We’re delighted to have the go-ahead for this development and can’t wait to get started. Hares Chase is being built in a great rural location that’s only a short walk from the town centre and will provide much-needed new homes for Cricklade.

“The 70 properties we’ll build at Hares Chase will cater for a range of people wanting a new home – first-time buyers looking to get on the housing ladder as shared owners; households in need of affordable rent homes; growing families looking for more space; and people planning to downsize.

“The development also features public open space including an equipped play area and we believe it will be an attractive addition to the local area.”

Preliminary work on constructing a roundabout at the site entrance will commence in the next two to three months, with the first homes being available for occupation late Spring 2019.
